Doncaster Rovers FC - 2026/27 Preview and Predictions

Reviewing 2025/26

Another turbulent season at the Eco Power Stadium, but one that didn't end in promotion or relegation for once. By mid September they were 2nd. At Christmas they were 23rd. Come May, they finished 14th. A comfortable 11 points clear of relegation. Owen Bailey chipped in with an impressive 13 goals from midfield and it's incredible how many of his goals were vital point winners.

Looking ahead to 2026/27

The stand out signing of the summer for Donny has to be Alfie May rejoining the club. If he can find his shooting boots they'll have no relegation worries at all this season. It's amazing what a proven goalscorer can do for club morale.

A lot of players have left the club this summer and providing the squad harmony hasn't taken a hit, I think they'll be just fine.

Court Offside Tip

If Alfie May does find his scoring boots, I think they could finish much higher than my predicted 19th. However, I think they'll take my call and live to fight another day in League One. They're 7/2 to be relegated which I don't think represents value at all. One to re-evaluate around Christmas.
