Leicester City FC - 2026/27 Preview and Predictions
Reviewing 2025/26
Well... What can I say about the Foxes? Just ten years ago I watched in amazement as they shocked the World to win the Premier League in one of the all time greatest upsets. A few years later they beat Chelsea under Wembley's arch to win the FA Cup. In August 2025 they start the season in the Championship but full of hope and expectations of a return to the top flight are high. Fast forward to May 2026 and it's a different picture entirely.
The men from the King Power Stadium won just two games from the 5th January onwards and suffer back to back relegations thanks in part to a six point deduction for FFP rule breakages.
Looking ahead to 2026/27
With Russell Martin now in charge, it's easy to see why the Foxes are tipped to top the lot in League One this season. They have a strong squad and in Conor Chaplin, they'll have the goals to get out at the first attempt.
The good news from a financial aspect is that some of the high earners have left. Harry Winks, Patson Daka, Ricardo Pereira, Jordan Ayew and Jannik Vestergaard have all departed and in total the club have raked in north of £35m in transfer fees. Which means they have the budget to add a few more to the squad.
Court Offside Tip

Providing there are no point deductions thrown at them half way through the season, the Fixes should be more than capable of romping their way back up to the Championship. 6/5 represents good value for that to happen and actually, in excess of 2/1 is available on City to win the league which no doubt a fair few have snapped up.
