Wycombe Wanderers FC - 2026/27 Preview and Predictions

Reviewing 2025/26

For the first season in quite a few, Wanderers had no real involvement in the promotion or relegation picture. Had they been a touch more consistent at the back end, we may have seen a play off charge but it wasn't to be, eventually losing seven of their last eleven and finishing in 11th position.

The efforts of Fred Onyedinma and Cauley Woodrow won't have gone unnoticed, contributing a combined 25 goal/assists.

Looking ahead to 2026/27

If you listen to AI, which a disturbing amount of people do these days, Wycombe should be finishing just outside the play offs this campaign. The bookies interestingly see it pretty similarly with Wanderers down at 9th favourites for the title.

Cauley Woodrow has arrived along with Conor Hazard, veteran Steve Cook and a few others to help bolster a squad that certainly needs it. A minimum of 3 or 4 more faces are needed in my opinion, if any sustainable promotion push is to materialise.

Court Offside Tip

Tough season to pick a bet out for Wycombe. If they get off to a good start they could well be in the mix and if that's the case, I'll be pondering a punt at the end of September. Right now though, I don't see anything worth betting on.
