Portsmouth FC - 2026/27 Preview and Predictions
Reviewing 2025/26
A late season flourish at Fratton Park helped stave off relegation after a pretty poor season all round. Four wins from their last six games helped them to finish 18th and 8 points above the drop zone but the thirteen points out of a last eighteen possible were vital. The performances of Adrian Segecic didn't go unnoticed and his 15 goal contributions played a massive part in Pompey's survival.
Looking ahead to 2026/27
Pompey have a lot of work to do if they're to avoid returning to League One this season. Keeping hold of existing talent and signing a few others could go a long way towards helping and the fan base always play their part.
At time of writing, the only notable name to depart is Andre Dozzell who heads of to DC United on a free, whilst 22 year old defensive midfielder Rocco Shein arrives for a whopping £2.5m from Norweigan side Fredrikstad.
Court Offside Tip
When I first listed my provisional table for this season I had Pompey bottom. I still expect a real struggle of a campaign and the bookies have them at 9/2 now for the drop which may be of some value to a few. I think they'll have just enough to survive however.
