Salford City FC - 2026/27 Preview and Predictions
Reviewing 2025/26
Always tipped to do good things, partially because of the backers, Salford finally put in the performance that you would expect from a team highly thought of by the bookies. After a poor home defeat to Crewe on the opening day, three league wins on the spin put them back up towards the play offs. A position they kept for most of the season.
Had they won their last game they would have been promoted automatically but after securing just one point away to Crawley, they fell into the Play Offs and despite making the final, were well beaten on the day by an impressive Notts County side.
Looking ahead to 2026/27
After last seasons painful play off final defeat you'd expect a little bit of a hangover. The real question is how long will it last? If they get over it in pre season they should be fighting for promotion again. If they don't, it could be a mid table finish.
Summer transfers hae given cause for excitement though, especially with the signing of Macauley Langstaff who joins from Millwall. He has goals in him and when you add the likes of Joe Powell, Abraham Odoh and Elliot Bonds into the mix, it's obvious the Ammies are going for it.
Court Offside Tip

Despite tipping Bristol Rovers to pip them to the title, I could definitely see Salford winning the league. However, I'm sticking with my guns and going with a pretty decent 6/5 on promotion.
