Sheffield Wednesday FC - 2026/27 Preview and Predictions
Reviewing 2025/26
The Owls stood very little chance of avoiding relegation after the points deduction and the general state of the Club when the season kicked off. They fought hard but in vain. After winning away at Portsmouth on September 20th, Wednesday would go 41 games without picking up another three points until eventually, on the final day, beating West Brom at Hillsborough 2-1, to at least finish on somewhat of a high note.
Looking ahead to 2026/27
I know they're in Legue One but what an exciting time it is to be a Wednesday fan. After years of misery under Dejphon Chansiri, the dark cloud has finally been lifted and there is a real buzz in the air around Hillsborough.
Henrik Pedersen's has already bolstered his side with the arrival of Callum Slattery, Harry Gray and the returning legend Barry Bannan. And if they weren't enough, Louie Barry joins on a permanent transfer from Aston Villa amongst others. They will be sad to see Pierce Charles and Svante Ingelsson leave but having recoupped almost £5m on the two, it made very good financial sense.
Court Offside Tip

2/1 on promotion seems like really reasonable value to me. The positivity around Hillsborough is unlike anything we've seen for a good few years and I would be really disappointed not to see them challenging for the title let alone 2nd or a play off spot. Therefore, this tip is one of my absolute favourite pre season bets.
