Rotherham United FC - 2026/27 Preview and Predictions
Reviewing 2025/26
Expectations were that Rotherham would have a mediocre season. But some journalists saw their relegation coming after the departure of Paul Warne and the relative lack of experience in the playing staff. They finished the season with just one win in their final thirteen games to go down with a bit of a whimper.
Having been used to seeing the Millers hop up and down between League One and the Championship, a first visit to League Two in 13 years may be a bit of a culture shock.
Looking ahead to 2026/27
There must only be one objective this season. Promotion. No ifs or buts. Back to back relegations will have hurt and cost them a lot financially.
16 players have left the Millers this summer with only 4 arrivals at the time of writing, but you have to think they'll be a draw for anyone at this level or even the lower depths on League One because there's a journey to be head at the New York Stadium. Current signings include Jamie Jellis and Fabio Tavares as the stand out two, but there's lots of room left in that changing room yet.
Court Offside Tip

It's been a painful 2 years at Rotherham but things will finally be on the up again this time around. I don't think they have enough to warrant a promotion shout but they should be more than capable of sustaining a play off push.
